Edukasi Gizi Berbasis WhatsApp untuk Pencegahan Stunting dan Pemantauan Pertumbuhan Balita Mandiri pada Masa Pandemi Covid-19
Abstract
Pandemi Covid-19 menyebabkan layanan Posyandu di wilayah mitra ditutup untuk mencegah kerumunan, padahal pemantauan pertumbuhan anak tetap perlu dilakukan setiap bulan agar penurunan berat badan dan tinggi badan dapat terdeteksi sejak dini. Kondisi mitra yang berada di zona merah serta keterbatasan kemampuan penggunaan aplikasi pertemuan virtual (Zoom) menuntut penyesuaian metode edukasi gizi dari luring menjadi daring. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan pencegahan stunting melalui pendekatan Gizi 1000 Hari Pertama Kehidupan (1000 HPK) sekaligus membekali mitra cara pemantauan status gizi anak secara mandiri di rumah. Metode pelaksanaan berupa edukasi gizi dengan tema “Ayo Cegah Stunting dengan Mengoptimalkan Gizi 1000 HPK”. Metode kegiatan dilakukan secara daring melalui Kuliah WhatsApp (KulWap) pada 77 peserta komunitas parenting. Evaluasi peningkatan pengetahuan dilakukan dengan desain pre–post test menggunakan 10 soal pilihan ganda. Tahapan pelaksanaan meliputi: (1) sosialisasi, (2) edukasi gizi melalui KulWap, (3) penerapan WhatsApp sebagai media edukasi, (4) pendampingan dan evaluasi (pre–post test dan umpan balik), serta (5) keberlanjutan melalui penyediaan media bantu pemantauan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan rerata skor pengetahuan sebesar 11% (81 menjadi 92) serta tersedianya media edukasi dan alat bantu pemantauan berupa height chart dan cakram cek status gizi untuk mendukung pemantauan tumbuh kembang anak di rumah selama pandemi.
