Job Insecurity dan Work Engagement pada Karyawan Perusahaan Retail di Masa Pandemi Covid-19

Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat dinamika Job Insecurity terhadap Work Engagement pada karyawan yang bekerja  pada perusahaan retail di Batam selama masa Pandemi Covid-19. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional, Sampel adalah karyawan salah satu perusahaan retail yang diambil dengan Teknik Sampel Total Sampling sebanyak 80 karyawan. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Job Insecurity Scale by Ashford et al dengan 59 aitem, dan Work Engagement diukur melalui Utrecht Work Engagement Scale dengan 17 aitem, dengan analisis data menggunakan teknik SPSS Product Moment. Dalam penelitian ini diperoleh nilai Sig. - 0,242 < 0,05 dengan nilai F hitung 0,861 > F tabel 3,960 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa Job Insecurity memiliki korelasi yang berbanding terbalik terhadap Work Engagement. Artinya, semakin karyawan memiliki Job Insecurity rendah justru akan meningkatkan Work Engagement, sebaliknya jika karyawan memiliki Job Insecurity yang tinggi, akan menurunkan Work Engagement. Studi ini merekomendasikan bahwa perasan aman (secure) karyawan terhadap pekerjaan perlu dijaga oleh perusahaan, karena terbukti meningkatkan keterlibatan mereka terhadap tugas-tugasnya, meskipun mereka bekerja dalam situasi pandemi Covid-19. Dalam kasus ini, juga sudah didukung dengan kebijakan dan keberpihakan perusahaan pada karyawan untuk menerapkan protokol kesehatan dan tetap memperhatikan kesejahteraan karyawan berupa penerimaan upah secara utuh
