Abstract


Japan’s politics have experienced of many growth and change at any given time in the past. And one of the salient themes which has emerged in the Japanese society in the modern era is an emphasis on traditional values; values such as perseverance, frugality, diligence, effort, family, sacrifice, the spirit of harmony, and deference for the elderly. The problem is that these traditional values be the important basis for Japanese principles in guiding Japanese policy in World war era. The targets of this research itself are to show the influence of Japan’s political insulation  in the feudal era (Edo) to Japan nation nationalism in World War I and II. This research includes qualitative research with descriptive analysis. It also used political Theory abroad and nationalism. The result from this analysis can be concluded that the insulation politics during 250 year at period of Tokugawa (feudal) have given many influence to forming of Japan society characters until modern era specially characters which forming Japan nation nationalism in a period of World War I and II. This matter can be seen through various statement and also the reasons from all of military elite, soldier until its society which carrying many traditional reasons in the War time.
